Buchanan Dam is located at the Southern end of Lake Buchanan just off of Highway 29. Buchanan is pronounced "BUCK-AN-AN" which is a novelty for most tourist. It was named after a man who pronounced his name that way.
One main attraction of Lake Buchanan in the winter months is spotting the Bald Eagles that have winter nests there. You can also take cruises up the lake to spot the Bald Eagles. The Eagles have been seen as far South as the Kingsland area.
