Marble Falls is a lakefront town in central Texas on Lake Marble Falls. It is only a 45 mile drive from Austin, Texas down Hwy 71 or 1431.   Many residents of Marble Falls drive to work in Austin.  Only 85 miles to the south is San Antonio which has shopping and tourist attractions.

Marble Falls was named for the granite falls that were in the Colorado River before the dam was built.  After the dam was built that formed Lake Marble Falls, the falls were under water.  Every few years the lake is lowered and the falls are visible again.

There are two large parks in Marble Falls that you and your family can enjoy. One of the parks is on the shore of Lake Marble Falls and the other park is on a nice creek.

Both parks are perfect for reunions, events, or just having a lot of fun with friends and family.

 

Lake Marble Falls and Lakeside Park

You can go swimming and boating in Lake Marble Falls at the Marble Falls Lakeside Park.  It is a good place for picnic along the lake while watching the activity on the lake.  There are also two lakeside restaurants near the park that have great lake views.

Marble Falls Lakeside Park also has a pavillion for events, a boat launch, a great swimming pool, and tennis and basketball courts, covered picnic tables and plenty of room for spreading out on the lawn and enjoying the lake.

When it comes to shopping and dining in the upper Highland Lakes Area, Marble Falls is the most popular town.  Marble Falls has a nice selection of   restaurants, a 24 Hour WalMart Super Store, a very large HEB Grocery Store, Home Depot, Office Depot, realtors, auto dealers and repair shops, a movie theater, an RV park, 4 motels, gift and antique stores, and art galleries.

Marble Falls has a nice variety of restaurants.  The "World Famous" Blue Bonnet cafe is located in Marble Falls. The Blue Bonnet Cafe has been serving meals in Marble Falls for over 70 years.  They have won many awards from various publications for their great meals.

Other restaurants in Marble Falls include two waterfront restaurants, Italian restaurants, Chinese restaurants, B-B-Q restaurants, Mexican restaurants, a steak and seafood restaurant, and a catfish restaurant.  Fast food restaurants include: McDonalds, Jack-In-The-Box, Wendys, Subway, WhataBurger, Church's Chicken, Dairy Queen, Sonic, Taco Bell, Taco Casa, Mr. Gattis, Long John Silvers, KFC, and Pizza Hut.

Lake LBJ Marina and Yacht Club
You can rent one of their romantic, luxury waterfront cabins.  They have a water park, restaurant grill, boat sales and rentals, and boat docks with lifts for rent.  The are located only 5 miles south west of Marble Falls on Lake LBJ, one of the largest, normally constant level lakes in the U.S..

The Blue Bonnet Cafe
This cafe is "Truly World Famous" for its home style cooking.  This popular restaurant is a favorite with both the locals tourists and the tourists.

Lone Star Park Models
If you have land and are wanting to put a cabin or cottage on the land, park models are the quickest and easiest way to go.
